Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club, “Racketathon”
25/09/2010
On Saturday 25th September the Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club in Sheffield will be hosting 12 hours of tennis squash and raquetball and we need players to take part.
Starting at 8am, we will play continuously for 12 hours on 2 tennis courts, a racketball court and a squash court.
The entry fee is £5 and, to make this work, we need at least 100 players of all standards.
In addition, we would like players to be sponsored by friends, family, neighbors and colleague's to raise money for Amy’s House.
If everyone raised just £50 sponsorship, we could give £5,000 to the appeal.
The player who raises the most money will be given a tour of Westminster for 2, donated by Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg.
Throughout the day there will be competitions for The Fastest Serve of the Day, Beat the Pro and also Exhibition matches hopefully featuring World no. 1 Squash Player – Nick Matthew and UK No 4 Doubles Tennis Player Jonny Marray.
There will be a huge tombola with fantastic prizes and Pimms and Cream Teas will be served throughout the afternoon.
The finale of the day will include live music from Steve Delaney’s band The Sharp Cuts and Ronay’s Butchers from Sharrow Vale Road will be serving a fabulous Hog Roast.
